Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for an Assistant Manager Natural Environment to join our Greenspace and Biodiversity Team on a permanent basis, to support our ongoing Climate and Biodiversity projects.

NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details
Working within our Greenspace, Biodiversity and Bereavement Services Group, you will lead on our Local Biodiversity Action Plan, manage partnerships with organisations supporting this Plan and lead on contracts delivering a range of environmental initiatives, including habitat, pond and wetland creation and grassand management.
You will prepare documents, sketches, designs and tender documents for a variety of projects.
You must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and should be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders verbally, in writing and using drawn information and be able to demonstrate creative flair.
The following are essential requirements for this role:
• A Biodiversity, Environmental or Greenspace qualification, with relevant workplace-based training across a range of project types, and/or a related qualification in Greenspace Project Delivery.
• Previous relevant Greenspace training, along with a good understanding of the design process and the principles of habitat creation, enhancement and maintenance.
• A current driving licence.
Project planning skills and a full working knowledge of design processes, procedures and systems within the field of Biodiversity, Greenspace and Habitat Creation are desirable as is experience of PowerPoint/Presentation & graphics presentation software.
