Job Description
We are looking for an Engineering Officer (Lighting). The Post is based at Eastgate, but you should have a flexible approach to working patterns and hours.
You will assist the Assistant Group Manager with all matters relating to service delivery and Asset Management including the design, supervision and administration of all lighting works to ensure the management and development of the city’s lighting infrastructure. You will be required to coordinate lighting performance statistics and condition data. You will be required to work on additional lighting projects when required. You will be required to provide relevant technical advice on lighting and electrical issues and report to management when required. There is a requirement to work collaboratively with colleagues, both internal and external to the Council to provide excellent customer service. There will be occasions when you will be required to carry out other duties appropriate to the post and in line with the requirements of the Service
It is essential that you have a Degree/HND/HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. However, approved Electrician Status and /or relevant experience in a lighting environment will also be considered. You should also have BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition and a valid Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card supported with Health and Safety Assessment Certificate. It is essential to have a current driving licence.
You should also have a sound working knowledge of current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards and Codes of Practice for electrical distribution and be able to support budgetary control and monitor performance against targets.
