Job Description

You will report to the Assistant Group Manager and manage a small team to deliver a Parking Service.

The post holder will:
• Manage the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process ensuring all requirements are being followed.
• Manage the Traffic Regulation Order database and work towards the digitisation of the legal documentation
• Manage temporary stadium event day restrictions.
• Manage requests for parking dispensations and parking suspensions
• Manage and maintain the city’s regulatory road markings and signage in line with legislation and guidance.
• Produce reports for management and collate performance monitoring information.
• Liaise with external contractors and other bodies.
• Manage resources to meet timescales and budgetary requirements whilst maintaining appropriate records.
• Provide technical advice.
• Respond to correspondence from members of the public and elected members.
• Attend site meetings when required.


Experience in traffic regulation, knowledge of parking, roads and traffic legislation, good communication skills, proficient IT skills and a current UK driving licence are essential.

Experience/understanding of using AutoCAD and SignPlot software, report writing, works planning and budgetary control are desirable. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or extensive demonstrable skills, knowledge, experience and competence at an appropriate level, is also desirable.

The ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours is also required.
