Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 4 Graduate/Technicians to join the project management team within Traffic and Road Safety.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work as part of the team planning, designing and delivering parking controls and traffic management schemes across the city in line with the Council’s strategic plan and also smaller projects focusing on improvements to the existing service, including cost effectiveness and income generation.                                                              

The successful candidates must have previous experience within a roads/traffic environment and a detailed knowledge of roads and traffic related legislation and the statutory process for Traffic Regulation Orders. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of projects including stakeholder liaison, procurement and contractor management. You must demonstrate good communication and IT skills, ability to assess technical problems and provide effective solutions and ability to cope in difficult situations.                              

Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline is essential along with experience of working in a roads / traffic related environment.
