Group Manager (Sustainable Transport and Active Travel)

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Glasgow City Council to join and lead our Sustainable Transport team in the role of Group Manager. Reporting to the Head of Service for Sustainable Transport, Traffic & Parking Operations, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals overseeing an exciting city-wide programme of active travel, public realm and behaviour change projects. 

Successful candidates must have a sound knowledge of transport strategy and policy, design standards and best practice, NEC contracts, CDM regulations, project management and budget management and be an outstanding communicator. A track record in managing the delivery of large-scale active travel or public realm projects in a busy urban environment is desirable. 

Successful candidates will be based at our Glasgow Exchange House office and participate in our hybrid working pilot. Generous holiday allowance and average earnings pension scheme are included. 

A minimum of HNC/HND or higher-level qualification in an engineering or relevant discipline is required.

A valid driving licence is required for this position.
