Job Description
Glasgow City Council is seeking an exceptional and talented individual to take on the role of Head of Finance and Transformation. Reporting directly to the Divisional Director of Finance and Transformation, the successful candidate will have a relevant business degree and/or extensive business experience coupled with a proven track record of management accounting and delivering complex change projects/programmes within financial targets in a complex, large-scale operational environment.
You will have a strong passion for the pursuit of service improvement underpinned by an effective and supportive governance framework that encourages stakeholders to work effectively together and to find new ways of delivering and developing services, whilst delivering financial efficiencies, is essential.
As an excellent communicator, the postholder will be at the forefront of transforming Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS). It is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-disciplined operational service, with over 3000 employees, delivering refuse collection, parks, roads, transport, parking, planning and property services. The role will provide leadership on business change capability development and ensure alignment, integration and prioritisation of project implementations. The postholder will also lead on the provision of the management accounting function to operational managers to assist their planning, controlling and decision making, whilst leading the integration with the Corporate Finance team supporting Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability.
