Job Description
Can you make a difference to the future lives of Glasgow's children? Glasgow City Council is seeking to appoint Instrumental Instructors of Baby Strings and upper strings, to work in various establishments throughout the city. You must be a passionate and well qualified musician with a true commitment to teaching, who will inspire the musical development of our children and young people. Teaching duties Baby Strings: To deliver whole class violin, viola and cello lessons as part of a team in Primary schools. Upper Strings: to teach violin and viola in small groups and individual lessons. In addition to the range of teaching and other duties outlined in the job specification we are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately, and who have a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for Glasgow's young people.
Candidates offered an interview should attend 30 Minutes before alloted interview time, and be prepared to perform 1 piece of their choice on their first instrument, followed by formal interview.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with GTCS Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
