Job Description
Located within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS), this post supports delivery of the City Centre Strategy (CCS) 2024–30 and its programme of regeneration activity.
The Strategy comprises 19 priority actions focused on regeneration, repurposing, development and placemaking across Glasgow city centre.
The postholder will support delivery across multiple workstreams, providing project and coordination support to progress key actions within the CCS programme. This includes assisting with project development, maintaining progress information, and coordinating activity with internal teams and external partners.
A key part of the role will be to provide secretariat support to the City Centre Task Force and its four subgroups, alongside supporting the operation of related partnerships and boards, including the Development and Infrastructure Boards, the City Centre Coordination Group, and the Union Street Infrastructure and Built Environment Recovery working group. This will involve organising meetings, preparing agendas and reports, taking minutes and tracking actions to ensure delivery remains on course.
The role will also involve supporting stakeholder engagement and partnership working, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including Council services, communities, developers and agencies to support collaborative delivery of regeneration activity
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting projects, ideally within regeneration, planning, development or a related field. You will have strong organisational and communication skills, experience of working with a range of stakeholders, and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines. You will also have experience of preparing reports and using a range of IT systems and software.
An understanding of the built environment is important, and a background in architecture, urban design, planning or a related discipline would be advantageous, particularly to support work with the Development team and initiatives such as Union Street and wider city centre regeneration projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a major city strategy and support high-profile regeneration projects that will shape the future of Glasgow city centre.
This post is temporary for a period up to 2 years.
