Position Details
We are offering an excellent opportunity to join our expanding Building Standards & Public Safety team as a Senior Building Standards Surveyor. There are 4 permanent positions.
These posts are located within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability and reports to a Team Manager for Building Standards & Public Safety. In this role you will be responsible for providing authoritative specialist professional advice and recommendations to support the delivery of a high-quality Building Standards service to support the delivery of a high-quality Building Standards service to meet verifier appointment criteria, statutory duties, NRS service targets and wider Council objectives. You will manage your own workload, maintain accurate records and help ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Full membership of MRICS, MCIOD, MBENG or equivalent construction relation professions institute is an essential requirement of this role. Whilst a degree in an appropriate construction discipline e.g., Building Surveying; Construction Engineering; Quantity Surveying; Architecture; etc, and a full current driving licence are desirable.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 per week
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
Annual Salary: £43,956.89 - £51,154.27 on an incremental scale Please note that this will increase by 3.5% on 1st April 2026.
