Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 2 Supervisors to join our Nightshift Services team on a permanent basis.

NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details

You will supervise the delivery of Nightshift Services with all aspects of Street Cleansing.

Duties will include monitoring/directing resources to ensure the effective delivery of front-line services, preparing/monitoring works programmes in relation to routine, cyclical and planned works and to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation.

You must have substantial experience in an operational environment including previous supervisory experience, basic IT skills, good communication skills, along with influencing and decision-making skills.

A current driving licence, a standard literacy and numeracy qualification, plus a current first aid certificate or a willingness to work towards this are essential requirements of the post.

An SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in an area appropriate to the post, C1 licence and CPC, C2 licence and CPC (front loading shovel), Health & Safety training, First Line Management and Risk Assessment training are desirable.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: an average of 37 per week

Work Pattern: 4 on, 4 off permanent nightshift rota

Annual Salary: £34,922.37 - £40,664.84 on an incremental scale

Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £10,510 and a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £714.
