Technical Officer (Senior Civil Engineer)

Job Description

Based within Neighbourhood and Regeneration Services the Senior Civil Engineer will be a key member of the Civil Engineering team helping to deliver the Council’s capital programme.  In the role, you will be responsible for roads, yard / car park, drainage including SuDS and earthworks design for a variety of projects.  Additional duties may include drainage investigations, site surveys and feasibility assessments.  You will require to liaise with architects, other engineering disciplines and clients whilst carrying out design duties and participate in design meetings.  You will also have to take an active role onsite during critical stages of construction to monitor quality and to provide technical support to the contractors.  Due to the nature of the role, it is important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to work effectively within project teams and liaise with clients.
