Salary: £50,861 - £59,159 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: The post holder works as an autonomous practitioner to provide a high standard of Nutritional and Dietetic care to complex and highly complex individuals within a defined specialist area of practice evidencing high level problem solving, reasoning skills and independence of judgement.

As Lead for an area of Dietetic Practice the advanced practitioner will undertake evidence based audit and research activity to develop standards of practice and define a quality governance structure for their area of practice across the Unit.

As Lead for an area of Dietetic Practice the advanced practitioner will increase capacity
throughout the system by working in partnership to develop care pathways including community interventions/signposting.

The Advanced Practitioner will lead the practitioner’s network for their area of practice. The post holder provides advice to Dietitians across North Highland however is not accountable for their practice.

The post holder will develop the service within the specialism ensuring performance
management indicators are developed and achieved by all members of the
extended dietetic team.

To provide highly specialist knowledge, education and consultancy expertise within the
Operational Unit and externally to AHP’s and other health and social care professionals.

Clinical supervision of Band 5 Dietitian and AHP Support Practitioners to be undertaken jointly with the Children and Young People (CYP) Dietetic Lead

Requirements

Registered Dietician with the HCPC

Honours Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics (4 year degree
qualification with several clinical practice placements in a variety of NHS settings)

Extensive knowledge of nutritional and dietetic care gained from NHS experience at Specialist level

Clean driving licence

This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:

• You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
