About the Role: The Area Quality Improvement Manager (AQIM) plays a key role in raising attainment by overseeing quality and performance across ELC, primary and secondary settings within designated Associated School Groups. Aligned with national and local priorities, the AQIM leads the strategic development and delivery of major improvement initiatives to ensure equity and excellence for all children and young people.

The postholder will provide strong leadership, clear vision, and high‑quality professional guidance to the Council, particularly to Chief Officers within the Education Service on their area of strategic responsibility. They will support effective decision‑making, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high standards across all sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in raising attainment by monitoring quality and performance across ELC, primary and secondary schools.
  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of major developments.
  • Ensure equity and excellence for all children and young people across all sectors.
  • Provide leadership, vision, professional advice, and effective management to the Council.
