Location: Inverness (Dingwall for first 12 months)
Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: Band 7 £36,995 - £43,031 p.a. (£46,244 - £53,789 pro rata)

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: An exciting opportunity to join the Child Protection Advisors for health team!

The CPA team are currently recruiting. We are looking for health professionals (registered nurse, midwife, AHP) with a genuine interest in the protection and safeguarding of children to come and join our team. Your role will be to support and guide health staff who are working with child protection cases, be the health representation at the Interagency Referral Discussion (IRD), using your health expertise and knowledge of child protection to aid the decision making in respect of children who are at risk of harm.

If you are a health professional educated to degree level willing to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Child Welfare and Protection we would love to hear from you.

Posts are part- time with varying hours up to 30 hrs p.w and will initially cover the Ross-shire and Lochaber areas but will also be part of the Highland wide advice and guidance and IRD service.

Requirements

  • Registration on appropriate parts of a Professional Register (NMC/ AHP).
  • Specialist Nursing qualification (Health Visitor/School Nurse) or equivalent recognised and relevant clinical qualification or extensive evidenced based relevant experience.
  • Educated to degree level as must be willing to undertake PG certificate of child welfare and protection if not already in possession of this,
  • The postholder should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the job.
