Job Purpose:
- To Meet the statutory requirements and standards for registration as a Fostering and Adoption Agency
- To be accountable for the practice of staff and quality assurance of work
- To ensure all fostering and adoption workers are given adequate support and supervision
To be responsible for leading practice and supporting improvements within the Fostering and Adoption service across Highland - To ensure effective and efficient recruitment and assessment of carers and the delivery of high quality therapeutic trauma informed support

Requirements
- You should be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the ‘Social Worker’ part of the Register and as such hold a qualification that is recognised by the SSSC as being equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW).
- Skilled in childcare planning and supporting staff who are working with children and adults who have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma.
- You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service
This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:
- You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
- You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.
