Job Purpose: To support the delivery of a high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused property maintenance and improvement service across the Highland area. The postholder will contribute to the effective management of Council housing stock by undertaking inspections and property condition surveys, and by supporting both reactive and proactive repairs. This includes responsibilities related to the delivery of capital programmes, asbestos management, fire safety compliance, communal repairs.

Working under the direction of the Repairs and Maintenance Manager, the role ensures that services are delivered in line with the priorities of the Council, tenants, and other
stakeholders.

The postholder will also assist the Housing Investment Officer in managing the capital investment budget, supervising projects, and conducting stock condition appraisals. A key aspect of the role is to contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery.

In addition, the postholder will actively support the ongoing HRA capital investment plan by building work packages, monitoring expenditure, and ensuring value for money across all activities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the quality and sustainability of the Council’s housing stock.

  • Educated to HNC level or appropriate qualification and experience relevant to the functions 
    of the post.
  • Experience of working within a housing / construction service environment.
  • Ability to travel across the Council area.
