Salary: £21,107 - £24,550 (pro rata) - £16,348.80 - £19,138.40 (15 hpw)

Job Purpose: To Improve the design and delivery of early years services across Highland with a focus on implementing a public health approach to tackle health inequalities and improve health outcomes.

The post provides a key role in the development, implementation and review of policy relating to health inequalities that affect pregnancy and the early years.

The post contributes to the delivery of early year’s services in Highland to ensure that Highland children get the best start in life. It supports the collaboration between NHS Highland, Highland Council and partner agencies to improve the health and wellbeing of infants, children, young people and their families.

A particular purpose of the post is to ensure a continued and strengthened interface with midwives and maternity services in NHS Highland and nationally to ensure the prebirth and early years (0 - 3 years) agendas are influenced across all agencies in Highland. Also, that maternity provision and the interface with midwives and obstetricians are considered within the developments of the Integrated Children’s Service in The Highland Council

Requirements

Registered Midwife and/ or Specialist Public Health Nurse – Health Visiting

Educated to Masters level (preferable) in a relevant subject

Mobility to be able to travel significant distances across Highland and Scotland within reasonable timeframes.
