Location: Headquarters, Inverness
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Fixed Term for 12 months
Salary: £53,835.60 - £58,895.20 per annum

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To assist in the delivery of a professional service including engineering technical advice and information of all aspects of property engineering design and building services operation in line with the Council’s policies, procedures and statutory legislation.

Requirements

  • Hold an accredited BEng(Hons) or Masters degree qualification in Buildings Services Engineering (or CIBSE/IET recognised suitable equivalent) or be able to provide evidence of extensive experience and qualifications of equivalent status) and relevant work experience (10+ years minimum) at a suitable level. 

 

  • Hold Chartered Engineer Status and Corporate Membership of CIBSE, IET, or equivalent professional body with an emphasis on Mechanical Building Services. Candidates who do not currently have CEng must prove they have ambition and capability to become Chartered within two years of commencement of post. 
  • Extensive knowledge of best practice in relation to MEP Building Services Engineering within a large public/commercial/public housing building portfolio. Ability to analyse and evaluate building systems and energy information from all utilities and identify solutions to the problems, and improvements for buildings including how engineering design affects the wider energy/low carbon agenda 
  • Competent use of design computer packages (e.g. Autocad/Revit, Amtech/StabiCad/ Hevacomp, etc., DaiLUX/Relux, NBS Chorus, etc.). Able to identify building performance issues and deal with their rectification.
