Job Purpose: To drive and support business change through the Highland Council, focusing on efficiently delivering business outcomes in line with our strategic requirements. The post holder will take a senior role within the Strategic Improvement Team strategically engaging with the Council’s business units as part of the Council’s wider Transformation programme, to lead & co-ordinate the design, build and delivery of solutions, utilising the power of digital and data to support the transformation of business processes and functions.

The team will play a critical part in the Council’s work to digitally transform service delivery. The Principal Project Manager, as directed by the Service Lead for Strategic Improvement, will lead complex programmes to support the co-ordination of individual projects and management of inter-dependencies. This includes the co-ordination and implementation of new capabilities for the business to enable effective change, leading to the realisation of projected outcomes and benefits as well as the oversight of any associated risks and issues.

This post is suitable for hybrid working with an expectation that the post holder will be, on average, physically present in the office 3 days per week in order to be able to effectively carry out the requirements of the role.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in a numerate/business/digital and technology related subject; OR Appropriate project and programme management qualification, other Relevant industry specific qualification (s) or experience

Extensive relevant proven experience that demonstrates a similar level of knowledge and understanding.

Typically, a minimum of ten years’ experience of working project and programme management with a significant proportion of that experience in digital/ business transformation related fields.
