Post Title: Service Lead (Fleet and Transport)
Location: Highland base
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £73,528 - £80,480 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To lead the Fleet and Transport Service, implementing transformational change and compliance, and embedding a high-performing culture based upon the Highland Council’s ambitious, sustainable, and connected values, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agreed delivery plan.
To Undertake the “Transport Manager” role for the Council in the context of Goods Vehicle Operators Licensing and maintain continuous and effective control of the Council’s Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence, by ensuring the Council fulfils its statutory obligations with respect to the requirements of its Operator’s Licence

Requirements

1. A relevant degree or professional qualification relating to the delivery of fleet and transport services, and evidence of continuing professional development.

2.Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence in the context of the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 or be willing to work towards this within 12 months of appointment.

3. Significant experience of leadership and management responsibilities in Fleet and Transport functions in large organisations.

4. A valid driving licence.
