Child’s Planning and Improvement Officer

As the HSCP continues its journey to implement the recommendations from the National Care Review and realise the ambition of The Promise we are seeking a skilled and confident person to join our team.  You will have significant experience of children and families social work both as a practitioner and a manager and a clear track record of working towards achieving the best outcomes for children and young people and their families.

Children’s Services in Inverclyde is at the beginning of an exciting period of change, to equip us to continue to meet the needs of our communities, support more children to remain at home and provide a high standard of support to families when they need it.  Your role will interact with families experiencing risk and high levels of need.  Working in conjunction with Health, education and Police colleagues as well as our highly involved 3rd sector partners you will play a key role in identifying and improving outcomes for children and young people locally.

Our area teams provide high quality assessments and support to children and their families through some of the most challenging periods in their life. Your role will have responsibilities to coordinate and lead key statutory meetings with children and young people experiencing the child protection system or children and young people who are not living with their parents.  You will have a key role in devising plans and evaluating their progress alongside children and young people, their families and carers and the other people who support them.  Working across multiple agencies you will have the right approach to hold agencies to account in a supportive and professional manner.

In addition to facilitating children’s reviews you will also have a key role in identifying and working on areas of improvement across the service and will participate and lead on improvement projects as required.
