Job Description

Social Worker x2 REF: HSCP/ TBC

Salary: Grade 8 £44,641 - £47,265

Location: James Watt Building

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 qualified Social Workers to join our Children and Families Social Work team.

These posts offer the opportunity to work directly with children, young people and their families across a range of statutory responsibilities, including child protection, children who are looked after away from their homes, and permanence planning.

Inverclyde is committed to delivering high-quality, relationship-based and trauma-informed practice, underpinned by the principles of The Promise. We have also introduced Signs of Safety as our practice framework, supporting strengths-based, collaborative and transparent work with children, families and partner agencies.

As a Social Worker within the team, you will:

Use the Signs of Safety approach to support clear, strengths-based assessment and planning.

Hold a safe and manageable caseload, supported by regular supervision and reflective practice.

Work collaboratively with families, carers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for the children, young people and families who we support.

You will find that Inverclyde is a great place to work. We are small enough to be agile and responsive, allowing you to make a real difference, while offering strong professional support, development opportunities and a positive team culture.

Newly qualified social workers are welcome to apply. We offer a protected and supported first year in practice in line with SSSC requirements, with dedicated support from Learning and Development Officers, access to regular NQSW forums for peer support and professional development, and an established supported year programme that has been successfully embedded within Inverclyde HSCP for several years.

If this sounds like where you’re meant to be, we would love to hear from you.
