Senior Social Worker – Request for Assistance Team

As the HSCP continues its journey to implement the recommendations from the National Care Review and realise the ambition of The Promise we are seeking an experienced and confident practitioner to join our team.  You will have experience as a practitioner in all aspects of voluntary and statutory community children’s social work, with a clear track record of working successfully in partnership with children and young people and their families as well as other partners to achieve positive outcomes.

Children’s Services in Inverclyde is at the beginning of an exciting period of change, currently implementing Signs of Safety and Healing to equip us to continue to meet the needs of our communities, support more children to remain at home and provide a high standard of support to families when they need it.

Established in 2018, our Request for Assistance Team is usually the first contact a family and partner agencies will have with our service.  The main function of the RFA team is to respond to new information, identify risk and take appropriate steps to promptly provide an initial assessment of risk and need to help inform next steps and the most appropriate support for a child and their family.  Working in conjunction with our 3rd sector partner you will be involved in identifying the right support at the right time. The successful candidate will be skilled in completing initial assessments and child protection investigations.
