Job Vacancy
Post holder must hold a practitioner level qualification (e.g. SVQ3 in Childcare & Early Years Education or an HNC in Childcare and Education, or equivalent) that meets the requirements for SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration.
Qualifications which were previously recognised for SNNEB/NNEB registration may be acceptable.
An up to date first aid certificate is also required.

Hours of Work: 1 x 36 hours, 1 x 23.5 hours
Working Pattern:
36 hours -
as part of a set team rota. (4 x 9 hours, 1 day off) (this could include 7.15am start, 5.45pm finish and does include a Friday afternoon). Day off to be confirmed at interview.
23.5 hours -
23.5 (Wednesday, 9 hours, Thursday 9 hours, Friday 5.5 hours)
Week 1 – Wednesday 7.15am-4.45pm, Thursday 7.15am-4.45pm, Friday 7.30-1pm
Week 2 – Wednesday 8.15am-5.45pm, Thursday 8.15-5.45pm, Friday 7.30-1pm
Weeks per year: 52
Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 23.5 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £18,920.73 per annum.
Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £28,984.95 per annum.
Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
