Are you an experienced waste management and/or land management professional? An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide innovative leadership for our new Recycling & Greenspace team delivering 5.8 million individual waste and recycling collections each year whilst maintaining wonderful country parks, cemeteries and other greenspaces.

Degree qualified you will have significant management experience together with a clear understanding of the legislative and budgetary framework within which the service operates.

The service is going through a period of change which requires an agile leader with good people, IT and project management skills to take staff on the journey. This is a high-profile position with regular scrutiny from the public and elected members which requires good communications skills and a resilient personality.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £64,093.74 per annum.
