KNOWLEDGE
Educational:
Essential:
The Jobholder requires a minimum qualification to HNC/ SVQ3 level in business studies, office management or administration or an acceptable equivalent qualification and/or extensive demonstrative experience to this level in one of the identified disciplines would be an acceptable alternative.
Experience:
Essential:
To be competent in the role the Jobholder must have good interpersonal skills and knowledge of the various systems and software including Microsoft packages. S/he must also have previous experience of working to strict deadlines, co-ordinating and taking minutes and producing complex documents. S/he must also be able to type at speed.
Desirable:
An understanding of the services the Council provides to the community and the relevant regulatory frameworks associated with this would also be desirable.

Post 1 - Monday – Thursday 0900 – 1700, Friday 0900 – 1530
Post 2 – 4 x 7.5 hour days to be discussed at interview
Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Post 1 - Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30619.22 per annum.
Post 2 - Based on 30 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £25516.01 per annum.
Requirements
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance, the fee for this Disclosure check will be met by you and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
Once you have submitted your application and this has been processed you will be notified by email from Disclosure Scotland that your certificate is available to view. Once you have viewed your certificate you will be allowed to share this with your employer and it is only available for 14 days from the first day you have viewed the certificate. If you do not grant access to Midlothian Council to view before access is removed, a further application will need to be generated, and this will incur an additional cost.
