Job Description
The post holder will undertake the verification of applications for Building Warrant and the acceptance of Completion Certificates, provide advice and guidance to enquirers and contribute to meeting the performance targets expected of the Building Standards Section.
Whilst the Council wish to appoint a fully qualified person experienced ideally within a Local Authority Building Standards environment, consideration may however be given to candidates who have lesser qualifications/experience of Building Standards. In those circumstances it would be expected that such candidates undertake study in order to gain a professional qualification. Salary placement and the duties undertaken will be subject to experience and qualification.
Responsibilities
Verifying applications for Building Warrant and Completion Certificate submissions.
Provide information and advice regarding Building Standards and related matters.
Contributing to the formulation and implementation of and complying with the objectives, policies and procedures of the Building Standards Section.
The Individual
Significant relevant experience ideally in a Local Authority Building Standards environment.
Degree in a Building related subject (HNC along with substantial relevant experience may be considered).
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Analytical approach

Self confident and self motivated
Working Knowledge of the Technical Standards
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
Ability to relate well with all levels of staff
Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible and corporate approach is required

Ability to work in open plan office.
