Job Description

To enforce the Regulations governing the use of Pay and Display car parks and on-street metered parking zones.

 

Responsibilities

Patrol Pay & Display car parks and on-street metered parking zones.

Maintain records of notices.

Assist in organisation and direction of traffic during busy periods in the car parks.

Maintain cleanliness in car parks.

Report vandalism within car parks.

Provide level of security within car parks.

Maintenance of car park machines.

Observe car parking arrangements.

 

The Individual

Experience of accurately recording information.

Standard grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Effective literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete relevant paperwork.

Ability to work under own initiative.

Prioritise tasks/actions.

Ability to write neatly and legibly.

Self confident and self motivated.

Attention to detail.

Ability to use smart phone for accessing data relevant to cashless parking.

Ability to follow instructions.

Observational skills to enable checking of vehicles and reporting of vandalism/damage.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.

Ability to remain calm if faced with conflict and respond to problems in a courteous manner.

Effective communication and interaction with members of the public.

Ability to relate to and support others in the team.

Helpful to colleagues and customers.

Ability to accept direction/delegation.

Ability to undertake a significant amount of walking daily.

Willing to work outdoors in all seasons.

Ability to lift and bend in order to carry out cleaning of car parks and maintaining car park machines.

Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.

 

The role will be mainly an afternoon shift, roughly 16:00 to 19:30, due to rota system you may be required to cover holidays, sickness or general changes. Looking for someone who can be flexible with hours as and when required. The Rota will involve working one weekend per month and that would consist of a morning shift.
