Job Description

To provide effective secretarial and administrative support to the Community Mental Health Social Work Team.

 

Requirements

Provide secretarial service for the Mental Health Team.

Provide a reception service for the Mental Health Team.

Provide administrative and clerical support to the Mental Health Team.

Update client information on CareFirst (Social Work Information System)

Undertake HR procedures for the Mental Health Team.

 

The Individual

Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/Internet.

Significant office experience including typing and word processing.

Experience of using a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access.

Experience of minute taking.

4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including English and Secretarial Studies (or equivalent).

Effective communication skills both oral and written.

Effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands .

Ability to record information accurately. Strong customer care skills and focus. Self confidence and self motivated.

Ability to use own initiative and to work as part of a team.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritise workload in accordance with objectives and targets.

Appreciation, acceptance and commitment to the importance of confidentiality.

Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Willingness to accept direction/delegation.

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.

Ability to work in an open plan/shared office (delete as appropriate).

Ability to work in different offices dependent upon service requirements.

 

 

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
