Job Description

The duties of the Chargehand will include responsibility to the Supervisor to carry out all duties involved in the burial of the dead.

Requirements

Burial of the Dead

Maintenance of the Grounds and their Surrounds

Giving Directions to Members of the Public

Use of Powered Hand Tools and Plant

Experience of mechanical excavator

Numerate and literate as accurate record keeping is required
Willingness to undertake Cemetery Operatives Training Schemes

Full current driving licence held for a minimum of 5 years.

Ability to display motivational techniques

Ability to plan and prioritise workload

Flexible attitude as some overtime working required. Polite and awareness of the sensitivity involved

Ability to work in all weather conditions to carry out heavy manual work
Satisfactory report from Occupational Health Service
