Speyside High School is a non-denominational secondary school situated in the village of Aberlour, within the Cairngorm National Park and Spey Valley. The school serves the catchment area of Speyside in Moray; possibly one of the largest and most beautiful catchment areas in Scotland with the River Spey on the school’s doorstep and within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The school take advantage of opportunities to enrich the curriculum and learning offered by the unique school context and support visits, curricular and extra-curricular activities which take advantage of the local area. As a result of the wide and rural catchment area, some young people travel at least 40 miles to attend the school from seven feeder Primary Schools: Aberlour, Craigellachie, Glenlivet, Knockando, Mortlach, Rothes and Tomintoul.Requirements
To provide professional leadership and management of the school ensuring the safety of all pupils and conducting the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by the education authority under the overall direction of the Head of Education (Chief Education Officer).

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
