Job Description
To assist in the provision of a comprehensive Human Resources Support and Advisory Service. The role will include providing advice on various subjects to other Departments and involve some project work related to making a contribution to the development of policies and procedures.

The Individual
Experience in a generalist human resources role, with experience/knowledge of:
Industrial relations problems
Advising on and attending disciplinary hearings and investigations
Preparation of contracts of employment and provision of advice on conditions of service issues
Advising managers and employees
Trade Union consultation
Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent
Associate Member of CIPD
Understanding of current human resources and local authority issues
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to exercise sound judgement, including in challenging conversations
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
IT literate with experience of standard office and HR systems
Knowledge of employment law legislation and ability to relate it to practical issues
Ability to gain trust and confidence of managers
Ability to work accurately and to accept responsibility
Sound knowledge of good practice and ability to give constructive advice under pressure
Confident and professional approach
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, including in challenging or sensitive situations
Ability to maintain professional confidence and judgement when working in challenging or pressurised situations
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
Ability to relate effectively to people at all levels across the organisation
Ability to facilitate discussions, meetings or briefings with managers or groups
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to travel independently between schools and Council locations across Moray
Temporary position until 31st March 2028

Starting salary: £34,778.25 (pro rata). Career grade scheme applies
Hours: 16.92 per week
