Job Description

As a sheltered housing warden you will provide low level tenancy management and support to service users within the Sheltered Housing Scheme. You will ensure that you comply with SSSC Registration and Care Inspectorate requirements by following the Health and Social Care Standards and Codes of Practice that apply to Housing Support to ensure that the best service is provided to all service users.

Requirements

Undertake visit(s), as per Housing Support Plans, to each service user within the Scheme.

Maintain all Scheme Records.

Observe the health and well-being of all tenants and ensure that all Council Policies. and Procedures in relation to Safeguarding are followed.

Ensure the effective reporting of repairs and maintenance of properties.

Undertake duties relating to the upkeep of the communal areas.

Responsible for Community Alarm Call system and maintaining records associated with the system.

Actively participate in Wardens On-Call Rota.

Participation in team meetings, training and supervision .

Registration Scottish Social Services Council.

The Individual

Experience of working with vulnerable people and or people with multiple and complex needs.

SQA Standard grades or equivalent at level 3 or above in English and Arithmetic

SVQ 2 (or above) in Social Care or willingness to work towards it

Registered with SSSC or demonstrable knowledge of the National Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice to be able to achieve registration within 6 months of start date.

Proactively approaches tasks and completes them to required standards and quality levels.

Ability to record information accurately in relation to service users.

Ability to maintain professional and confidential approach when dealing with vulnerable people.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.

Active listening and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with service users and staff at all levels.

Effective communication skills oral and written.

Ability to lift and carry reasonable weight, move furniture in accordance with the moving and handling regulations.

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service.
