Job Summary

Temporary for 52 weeks.

Interviews will be held on 22nd July 2025.

PARENTS ONLY Eligibility Criteria To apply you must be: • Unemployed • A parent living with a dependent child(ren) • A North Ayrshire resident.

North Ayrshire Council are offering PARENTS a one-year mentored placement in an Early Years establishment in North Ayrshire. The programme is funded by Scottish Government and aims to support parents into a vocational mentored placement, gaining skills and experience within an education environment.

The Offer: The placement offers: • 52 week mentored placement • 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 10am-2pm • £12.60 per hour pro rata • Mandatory 6-week preplacement college course • SCQF Level 6 qualification in Early Learning & Childcare • In work support throughout the placement You will be registered with the We Work for Families. They will check your eligibility, allocate you an interview slot and check your ID.

Disclosures: As the post requires working with children, successful applicants will be expected to complete a PVG application before commencing the placement. We would require passport or a full birth certificate along with proof of your NI number for Asylum ID. We also require 2 official documents/letters as proof of address.

PVG (Children)

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.  Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
