Job Summary

Temporary for 15 months.

As part of North Ayrshire Council’s Modern Apprentice Recruitment Process if, following interview, you are chosen as a Preferred Candidate, you must complete a 1-week pre-employment Course with one of our Employability Partners, before being issued with a Conditional Offer of Employment.
The qualification to be achieved on completion of the Modern Apprenticeship is SVQ Level 7.
Modern Apprenticeship posts are open to all North Ayrshire Residents aged 16-19yrs old at commencement of employment.

This post is based in the Child & Adolescent Specialist Substance Team based within the North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership are delighted to recruit for an innovative new position in the form of a Modern Apprentice aged 16-19 years old. This is an excellent opportunity to come and work with the team and gain valuable vocational and work experience carrying out interventions alongside the 2 Specialist Substances Workers.
The post is North Ayrshire wide and therefore an ability to travel is required. This opportunity is aimed at a young adult who has grown up in a household which has been adversely impacted by a caregiver's drug or alcohol use. You do not need to be care experienced to apply for this position. The preferred candidate should have a keen interest in developing skills and experience in relation to supporting those impacted by drugs or alcohol. You will get the opportunity to hone your practice and learning in a variety of settings including interventions practiced within children & families, adolescents and criminal justice. Therefore we are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking individual with a can-do attitude and the academic ability to successfully complete SVQ level 7.
