North Ayrshire Council’s Skills for Life programme is funded by Scottish Government and aims to support parents to gain training, skills and experience. These Clerical posts are based in various North Ayrshire Council offices.

The Skills for Life programme offers:

  • 23 week, mentored placement
  • 20-25 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm
  • Paid at the Real Living Wage, £13.52ph

Eligibility - To be considered for the post you must be an unemployed parent living in North Ayrshire, with a dependent child(ren) living with you. You will not be eligible if you have participated in this programme, PEP or Step Into previously. Interviews will be held at the Parent Hub in Ardrossan on Tuesday, 1st September & Wednesday, 2nd September.

Registration -  To participate in the Skills for Life programme, you must be registered with the We Work for Families project. This ensures you meet the eligibility criteria prior to employment and have the relevant ID required for the post.

 

Staff Values & Behaviours

Pre-employment Training – Digital Skills Successful candidates are required to participate in Pre-employment Digital Skills Training. You must be available 8th September until 9th October. The classes will be at Ayrshire College, Kilwinning Campus on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10am-2pm. The Digital Skills training will include PC Passport, Microsoft Sway, Forms, and Teams. Internet Safety, Data Security and SharePoint will also be included.

ID Requirements - We would require:

  • Passport and 1 official letter with your current address OR
  • Full birth certificate along with proof of NI Number and 1 official letter with your current address
