Job Summary

Temporary for 26 Weeks.

We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.

Summary

North Ayrshire Council is creating temporary positions within our Skills for Life programme. The programme is funded by Scottish Government and aims to support a person to gain training, skills and experience within out Community Care Service.

  • These placements will be for 26 weeks
  • 20 hours per week
  • Paid at the Real Living Wage, £12.60
  • Working 10am - 2pm

Eligibility

To be considered for the post you must be a parent with a dependent child(ren) living with you, a North Ayrshire resident and currently unemployed. You will not be eligible if you have previously taken part in any Skills for Life programmes. Interview times will be allocated, after you have successfully completed the application form and meet the eligibility criteria. All successful applicants will be notified of interview within a week of the advert closing. Interviews will be held in April.

Registration

As part of the Skills for Life programme, you will be registered with We Work for Families Project, to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria prior to employment, in which you will be asked to provide ID and meet with support services.

Registration Day will include;

    • Registration Form
    • Pre-employment paperwork

In Work Support:

    • Mentor support throughout the 26 weeks placement
    • Transitional Employment Support
