The CDM Officer reports directly to the Programme Support Manager and is responsible for the implementation, coordination, monitoring and reporting on Health and Safety activities across various contracts, providing advice and assistance with construction, civil and structural engineering activity.

A fundamental part of the role will be the responsibility to ensure compliance with current CDM regulations and providing H&S advice and guidance across the service.

The post holder will contribute to ensuring the appropriate management processes and controls are in place to monitor contracts, carry out relevant audit activity; provide data analysis on contract activity including producing contract documentation and incident and accident reports to senior management as required.

As a hybrid worker based between home and civic centre Motherwell, you will be involved in developing and implementing service specific policies, risk assessments, safe systems of work, compiling preconstruction information and reviewing contractor construction phase plans, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

A key part of the role will involve working collaboratively as part of the council’s Management team to support the delivery of the council’s priority outcomes, ensure successful implementation of the council’s business plan and continue to improve services to reflect the needs of local communities and stakeholders.

You will be educated to HND/SVQ Level 4/Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have or be eligible to working towards membership of IOSH. You should also have an in depth knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.

You will be required to travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area.

Monday to Thursday

08:45am to 16:45pm

55 minute lunch break

Friday

08:45am - 16:15pm
