We are currently recruiting Occupational Therapists to join our Integrated Rehabilitation Teams (IRT) in North Lanarkshire. The teams comprise of Occupational Therapists employed by either NHS Lanarkshire or North Lanarkshire Council (NLC), Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Senior Healthcare Support Workers and Occupational Therapy Assistants (NLC). The integrated teams work together and in partnership with other services to support the people of North Lanarkshire to achieve their full potential and live safe, healthy, independent lives in the community.
Successful applicants will have a lead responsibility for the provision and promotion of independent living, consistent with national, council and service policies, procedures and practice. You will contribute, develop and implement relevant statutory plans, including service policies and procedures, liaise with other services, agencies, service users and carers to contribute to the identification of need. You will also undertake assessment and planning with people affected by/living with ill health, disability, long term conditions and general ageing to provide profession specific information, advice and interventions.
Possession of a BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council are essential. In addition, you must have experience of care planning for individuals’ and managing a case load in a range of settings working with people with disabilities and experience of multi disciplinary/multi agency working. A sound knowledge of medical conditions, an understanding of the social model of disability, the ability to always maintain a professional manner and demonstrate anti discriminatory practice are also essential.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
