North Lanarkshire Council, as one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, and Scotland’s largest social landlord, is leading an exciting and ambitious housing regeneration programme as part of its plans for inclusive economic growth, and provides a range of high-quality housing and support services for tenants and residents. Working with a variety of partners, the Housing Service has a key role in making a real difference to the lives of people and communities across North Lanarkshire and making North Lanarkshire the Place to Live.

You will work as part of an exciting Housing Strategy Team to develop and implement the Council’s Local Housing Strategy.  You will have the opportunity to develop the Council’s strategic approach to addressing multi-tenure issues, and meeting housing needs by improving existing pathways and developing new initiatives.

Your role will involve researching, planning and driving project developments that contribute to ensuring an appropriate range of local housing options are available to assist people to realise their housing needs and sustain local communities. You will work in partnership with key stakeholders, to ensure consistency and alignment with our shared strategic priorities.

You should be educated to degree/SVQ level 4/HND level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with significant relevant experience in local government or policy development with experience of developing housing or related strategy and procedures.

You will be:

  • knowledgeable in housing policy and legislation

  • able to demonstrate excellence in report writing skills, effective work programming and project management skills
  • able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a committed and driven individual to contribute to shaping the Place that is North Lanarkshire.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm (55 minute unpaid break)
Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm (50 minute unpaid break)

Hybrid working pattern: week 1 (Wed/Thurs/Fri/Mon/Tues) based in the Civic Centre office on the 3rd Floor; week 2 (Wed/thurs/Fri/Mon/Tues) working from home, with additional in office/other location attendance as the role requires.
