We are looking for a motivated individual to take up the position of the Administrative Assistant within the Information and Communication Technology team based at King Street, Kirkwall.
The successful candidate will provide all aspects of administrative support as required and will work closely with the Operational Support Manager and ICT Services Manager to ensure a high level of business support is provided.
You will already have experience of working as an effective team member within an Administration team, have excellent administration and computer skills, ideally using Microsoft Office applications. You will need to be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines, use your own initiative, maintain confidentiality and be able to work unsupervised. We are looking for a good communicator and with excellent organisational skills as you will be part of a team liaising with a wide range of customers.
Duties will include telephone answering and reception duties; provide quotes; order goods; accurate record keeping; administer meetings and process invoices.
SVQ2 or equivalent level 5 SCQF qualification in a business or administration subject or where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of two years' recent experience of working in an administrative role is required.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
