The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.

This is a career progression post and salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Progression through the grades is dependent on the successful applicant gaining the required qualifications, knowledge and experience.

You will be reporting to Lead Engineer (Roads and Infrastructure).

Your working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.

The purpose of this role is to assist the Lead Engineer (Roads and Infrastructure) in providing a broad range of professional Civil Engineering Services.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Services Team. The team has a diverse workload which includes new works and maintenance covering roads, bridges, harbours, airfields, flood protection and development infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work in these areas assisting with the preparation of designs, preparing contracts and supervision of contractors.

You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney including the outer islands.
