£17.94 - £19.18 per hour
The above amounts include Distant islands Allowance.
You will be reporting to Curator (Archaeology).
Your working pattern will be up to 21 hours per week. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The purpose of this role is to support the work of the Curator in the management, storage, documentation, care, display and interpretation of the collections held by Orkney Islands Council, including archaeology, social history and fine art.
The postholder will be required to maintain the documentation records of the collection using a specialist digital database. This will include updating existing catalogue records and create new records for artefacts as directed by the Curator. The potholder will also assist the Curator in conducting and inventory and audit of the stores and maintaining the stored collections in good order.
