21 hours per week (Monday and Friday 09:00 - 14:00 and Tuesday to Thursday 09:30 - 14:00 including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break), Term time

£25,112 - £25,325 pro rata / £13.02 - £13.13 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited from motivated individuals to undertake duties as the cook responsible for the provision of the school meal service at Glaitness School. Duties include preparation, cooking and service of food, supervision of staff, menu planning, ordering of provisions, ensuring all aspects of service provision complies with food safety and completion of associated records, cash handling and liaising with school staff, parents and pupils.

You must hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification or equivalent and a food preparation qualification such as NVQ level 2, C+G 706/1 +706/2.

This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
