We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Early Years practitioner for the post of Senior Practitioner at Glaitness Nursery.
You will have experience of working in a nursery and also have experience of developing aspects of Early Years practice. Your role will involve working alongside the Nursery Manager to provide pedagogical leadership.
The post will be for 50 weeks per year and will involve working different patterns over the week to accommodate a year-round service. These hours may be worked at other settings to provide cover during holiday periods. As Glaitness Nursery is 50 weeks per year, the majority of annual leave should be taken during the school holidays.
To be appointed at Grade G:
You will hold a qualification that meets the requirements of the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Day Care of Children Service (e.g., SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice). You will also be required to achieve a relevant SCQF Level 8 qualification within 3 years of taking up of post. There will be support given to gain the relevant qualification if you do not already hold this.
To be appointed at Grade H:
You will hold a qualification that meets the requirements of the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Day Care of Children Service and you will hold a SCQF Level 8 qualification in a relevant area of study, for example, HND Childhood Practice, PDA Childhood Practice.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
