We are looking for an experienced early years practitioner to join our team as a Lead Early Years Practitioner (Community Based) to cover a maternity leave.
This post would be ideal for an experienced early year practitioner who really enjoys working with young children and their families. The role involves supporting families, for example, with sleep or play, and working with nurseries to support transitions. In partnership with our existing lead practitioner, the early years lead practitioner will also run a range of groups to promote family learning, for example, language groups, PEEP sessions and Solihull parent groups. You will also work closely with nurseries and other agencies, such as Health Visitors, to make sure we get it right for every family.
You will be based at the Keelylang centre. The post involves travel to settings across Orkney, including the islands and also working directly in family homes.
You will be a qualified early years practitioner or have an appropriate qualification that enables you to register to the SSSC as a practitioner (day care of children). You will have experience of working with young children and families, and offering family support, perhaps through your role in nursery.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
Secondments will be considered. Prospective applicants are encouraged to discuss the post by contacting Catherine Diamond, Service Manager (Early Years Team) on 01856 873535 ext 3220 or email: catherine.diamond@glow.orkneyschools.org.uk
Closing Date: Sunday 10 December 2023
Please note that interview expenses are not payable for this post.
