This is a unique opportunity to work within one of the few Regional Marine Planning teams in the Country. The role is to support the delivery of the delegated functions conferred under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010 to prepare the Orkney Islands Regional Marine Plan. You would have responsibility for marine related policies and be involved in a wide range of project work.
Orkney’s marine environment is world renowned and is also the location of cutting-edge renewable energy devices, traditional industries and international shipping. Year on year we are seen to be one of the best places to live in the United Kingdom so it is a great place to live and work.
For this role we are looking for applicants with an appropriate qualification in marine planning, marine resource management, marine ecology or another relevant discipline.
Applicants should also be able to demonstrate experience in marine planning, marine ecology or marine resource management.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
