Modern Apprenticeship in Social Care

22.2 hours per week, Shift working over seven days

Temporary up to 31 August 2027

£32,494 - £32,749 pro rata / £16.93 - £17.06 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by senior staff in an effective and efficient manner ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users.

You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and wellbeing; including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Inspectorate.

Your work will include the opportunity to complete the SVQ2 in Care through Orkney College. You will provide high standards of care in line with the policy and procedure, professional guidelines and social care principles.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
