We are seeking a dedicated Night Social Care Assistant to join our Short Breaks and Supported Living Network Service within Orkney Health & Care. This service provides high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and their families, enabling independence and inclusion in the community.
The successful candidate will support individuals who have short stays for respite within our Short Breaks service. You will play a key role in promoting choice, dignity, and support individuals to access community facilities while promoting healthy sleep patterns to enhance well being.
Key Responsibilities will be to deliver flexible, responsive, and enabling care that promotes independence. Supporting the individual in daily living tasks and community engagement. Contributing to support planning and risk assessment processes, whilst working collaboratively with the Senior Social Care Worker and wider team.
You should have excellent communication skills and a person-centered approach. Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to social inclusion. Understand Health and Social Care Standards and Care Inspectorate requirements.
You should hold a minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or other relevant qualifications to enable registration with SSSC as a Support Worker in a Housing Support Service with Care at Home for Adults, or where the essential qualification is not held, applicants should be able to achieve this within 3 years of appointment.
You must also register with SSSC as a Support Worker within 3 months of appointment.
