Systems administration forms the basis of the System Supervisor role, proving first line support for database, ePlanning, document management systems and geographical datasets, resolving technical issues and liaising with software providers regarding maintenance and upgrades.

Knowledge of IT systems, and experience in database and/or gazetteer management are essential, as is the ability to read and interpret plans and knowledge of building and development issues. The ability to demonstrate robust analytical and problem-solving skills and delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines are essential to the role.

Experience of Development Management procedures, Geographical Information Systems, understanding the ePlanning service, experience in a planning-related environment, and knowledge of street naming and numbering are all desirable.
